Redcoat Event at Panama Joe’s

One last activity is in order and all interested are welcome to join! We’re meeting at Panama Joe’s at 6:00 pm on Wed., March 29th.This is a Red Jacket event! PJ’s is located at 5100 E. 2nd St, Long Beach. Street parking is available around this location, and food and drink are available for purchase. Believe it or not, I have only been there once but the cuisine and drink were very impressive. It’ll be our last get-together before the Long Beach Grand Prix, so I hope many of you come to join the party!

Cheers, Susan Mrock, Activities Director

Mardi Gras Postponed To March 18

The City has rescheduled the Mardi Gras event and Parade at Shoreline Village until March 18 due to the inclement weather and in the interests of the performers, participants, and guests. They will now combine the Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day celebrations into a “Shamrockin’ Mardi Gras”. Stay tuned for more details as we still hope to march in the parade.

2023 Membership Drive

This year’s Kick-off Meeting follows a very different philosophy. We will limit invited guests to those who are interested in learning more about becoming a Member (Governor) of the Committee of 300. This is not a party, but a positive event to attract like-minded people who would like to take advantage of the fantastic opportunity we provide. Please bring all family members, business associates, friends, and acquaintances who want to get involved with the Grand Prix.

Redcoat Meetup At Legends On Jan 24

/

Hi RedCoats & Friends!
This month we are going to one of the most well-known, the granddaddy of sports bars, Legends!
Let’s meet at 6 pm on Tuesday, January 24th. Legends is located at 5236 E Second St, Long Beach. Many of you have been there already so you know that the food and drinks are really good. The parking is first come street parking, so leave yourself some time to find a spot.
The place is plastered with bigger-than-life screen TVs so check your local listings for events on that night. It’s going to be a real fun time, so come on down and join us!
See you there!

Thanks, Susan

Christmas Party 2022

The Committee of 300 held our Christmas Party at the Long Beach Yacht Club on December 30. Members and their guests enjoyed an excellent buffet dinner of chicken, salmon and roast beef along with all of the trimmings. After dinner, President Derek Brown delivered a few remarks and thanked and introduced the Board Members. Grand Prix Association of Long Beach President and CEO Jim Michaelian also delivered some remarks and thanked the Committee. Then Derek and company handed out a couple of tables’ worth of raffle prizes. Larry Bustmante and his band provided the music for dancing and listening. This was a first-class event befitting our first-class dinner attire. See how much fun we had in the gallery below.

Belmont Shore Christmas Parade

Belmont Shore Christmas Parade

A few Redcoats managed to locate each other among the 100+ entries for the Belmont Shore Christmas parade. We accompanied an Acura Grand Prix pace car up and down 2nd Street in front of 40,000 spectators lining both sides of the street AND the median. Afterward, we located our cars and gathered at The Belmont Brewing Company for hospitality.
